Melinda J. Irvine
Melinda J. Irvine is an Australian freelance copywriter, poet and musician living between the Philippine Western Visayas and her home country. She spends her time in the Philippines as adopted/foster mother to Jerry (a Filipino boy nine years old whose birth parents died tragically) as well as providing free creative activities and music lessons to the kids of Jerry’s home district (a fishing community deeply affected by poverty and seasonal typhoons). To continue delivering humanitarian aid to the children, Mel is available for freelance copywriting projects and business blogging. Writing poetry and blogging also keeps Mel’s dual lives in Australia and the Philippines connected. Her author website, blog and facebook pages feature original poems, micro-stories, photographs and video fragments as well as links to her self-published eBooks. Back home in Australia you can find her busking the streets, performing at a hotel or wandering the broad Australian landscape gathering images, video and stories to fund her next trip back to the Philippines and the legal adoption of Jerry.
